The Lemmer family, consists of the married couple Johann & Marinda and
Johann's two children from a previous marriage, Teunika and Rikus.
Of this family it can be said that Johann and his house is serving the Lord.
Teunika matriculated in 2001 and is now doing her Service year for Christ with
the VCSV. She were in previous years during holidays involved in Johann & Marinda's
ministry during het school holidays. Teunika is planning to study business management
in years to come and her dream is to establish a small Bible Book Shop from where
she will also minister to the broken of heart. Her stepmother Marinda is also her
biggest friend and together the two form a team to be reckon with.
Rikus, like Teunika, also involved himself in the Lemmer's ministry to children.
Johann felt very proud to see his teenager son ministering with enthusiasm to
little kids sitting around him. Rikus has a natural talent to deal with the
little ones. He is now in Grade 12 and his future planning is to become a computer
engineer. He already showed much talent in this direction spending time in his father's
computer laboratory repairing computers for missionaries.
Johann studied Psychology and Mathematics which he followed up with Sociology and
Criminology. In later years he achieved registration with SAIPA, finished his first
module in children ministries at CEF as well as Petra College where he also completed the tutor course and he as well as Marinda completed the EE3 courses for Adults, youth and tutorship. They plan now to do the EE3 course for children as well.
Other studies entail children trauma, prayers for children, courses on spiritual
freedom, etc. Johann is registered as a student at the Nehemia Bible Institute.
Marinda qualified herself as Social Worker before she joined the streetwork team in
Cape Town for 15 years.
The couple served already in Botswana, Kenya, Marocco, Mallorca and of course at
Wellington their home city and in the Paarl Hospital's children wards.
Their tent maker business CompuMission served many missionaries and mission
organisations to purchase computer ware at cost prices. Many received also free
computers which were donated to the organisation for distribution in the mission
world. For this reason the Lemmers never sell secondhand computer ware except
to ask payment for any auxillary services to it that they had to pay for.
